Yea. All garments are recycled. And you get new underwear weekly basically anyway when you take the dirty ones to the laundry and they give you clean ones in return.

If they are washed weekly and given to a new soldier (which is most likely, it would be like winning in the lottery that they'd end up on the same guy again) every week, that's 52 pairs of balls per year. That for 30 years.... 1560 pairs of balls!

Yeah, but Finland is cold, so you have ball shrinkage and it's more like 1,000 pairs of real balls.

Issued new and you clean them yourself, they do have a laundry service you can use after basic training but they are so inept few bother using them.

How is that so shocking to you? I, or anyone, had zero issues or even a thought about having a problem with recycled underwear. Of course we made jokes about how many balls these have seen, but it was just joking.

They look like cotton and elasticated, no way would they stand up to that sort of usage for 30 years. It does seem like they were just old stock, rather than in constant use.
