PS4 or Xbox One video games best bang for buck

I am a pc gamer for the most part but due to some luck and a bday gift i now find myself owning both a ps4 and xbox one.

My question is what are some games out there with the best bang for your buck? I'm not paying $60 for games that I can finish in 10 hours so what are some games for either system with replayability that can provide lots of hours of gameplay like at least 50 or 60 hours if not more.

Mod Edit: No platform war pointlessness.

50-60 hour games to finish the story pretty much limits you to RPGs.

So you have Witcher 3, Dragon Age, Fallout 4, Disgaea 5, Tales of Zesteria... and that's about it for released games. Next year there will be a lot of JRPGs launching on the PS4 so that would increase the category somewhat.

Of course there are plenty of MP games or open world games with collectibles and side shit that can get you to 60 hours but most all have stories that can be beaten in 20 hours or less.

    Bloodborne!

    *sits here waiting for DLC*

Also there's a 'bundle' for $50 which includes base and DLC.

Bloodborne can easily be beaten in sub 15 hours if you're not bad but can easily provide many of hours of content if you delve into it... the reason why I didn't list it because OP is not clear on what they want.

You're probably right and I'm probably gona stick to rpgs on my PC but MP and open world games seem like the way to go I might have to give black ops 3 and gtaV a try.

Not easy to answer without knowing game preference (RPGs, indie, sports, racing, shooters, etc).

Xbox is more of a multiplayer console, Tuned for that the most and ussually has the most multiplayer centric games shooters ect. PS4 has more rpgs and more singleplayer shit. You have to pay for both onlines but i still stand that xbox live is leaps better than psn.

He owns both and is asking for game recommendations on both, not asking you compare what you think is better on what.

The length of time that you play Bloodborne varies of course, but according to HLTB (which I've always found to be pretty accurate) the main story clocks in around 35 hours. Personally, it took me like 25 hours to beat the base game and then 40 total to finish all the Chalice Dungeons. It has nothing to do with skill really. I've played every Souls game including Demon's Souls. Unless you rush through the game/know the layout of the maps then I would find it hard to believe that someone is going to beat Bloodborne in 15 hours or less in their first playthrough.

Also, if you have a PS4 you have to play The Last of Us. It's phenomenal. Yes, I know it is a 15 hours game, but unless you only have enough money for a few games then that's a pretty stupid reason to limit yourself from playing some amazing, more scripted games.

This flies in the face of your requirements for recommendations....but this game was one of my favorites this year, Until Dawn on PS4. The game takes ~9 Hours to beat, but there IS potential for replay. You can argue that is more of an interactive movie experience, but the amount of fun I had with this game (which seems to incorporate all types of horror movie types and cliches into something that actually works and makes sense) more than makes up for any shortcomings. I heard someone describe it as a TellTale game done right, and I agree. Plus Amazon had it for $40 brand new awhile back. =)

That's..not really limited to PC, you can get the PS3 or XBox 360 version of Fallout 3 GOTY just as cheap. Nothing to do with console vs PC, everything to do with the game being 7 years old.

Granted, PC versions tend to drop in price faster, but eh, the difference isn't as big as people like to claim.

False. Physical console games are always the fastest to drop in price as retailers try to clear out stock. Look at AC Syndicate and CoD Black Ops 3 being on sale for $35 this week, you'll be luck if they're $50 in the steam fall and winter sales.

GL fucking HF to do it in 15h the first time. Well I guess if you rush it like mad but why the fuck would you rush bloodborne or a souls game? You would miss so much of the lore and hidden secrets and what not. Even if you finished it in 15h you would have to replay to find other stuff and so on.

    Bloodborne
    Last of Us (10h~)
    MGSV (on PC too)

Dont know how your PC is so wont say Witcher 3, DA Inqusition or more PC games as yeah.

Neither because consoles are a relic of the past. Very few if any games are exclusive now and the awful downgraded graphics, trash fps, and non mod support makes the platforms debunct. If this generation isn't the last one it should be.

An entirely different argument, I merely stated that PC games aren't oh so much cheaper than console games. Personally my go-to argument for PC version of games is performance and graphics anyway.

I would sell both consoles. Keeping them is pointless never mind TWO

Graphics which can be significantly improved with mods. Morrowind for example

I would sell both consoles. All I need is my PC and Wii U. If Nintendo ever starts releasing their games third party, I won't be buying Nintendo consoles anymore either. The exclusives for xb1 and ps4 really aren't that special.

Sell them both before the steam winter sale. Buy urself a hot escort and 30 games.

I would always argue the same argument as anaxie, but about a month ago I bought a PS4 on impulse (and I was bored). I got last of us, destiny and uncharted 1-3 with it.

last of us, uncharted is so amazing games. plenty of hours there. Destiny, a mix of arpg and MMO (my favorite genres) think I will put many hundreds of hours in this game. So it wasnt a bad buy for me, but I get your point and I get why people say if you dont feel like playing any of the exclusives intensively or are hyped for them - just sell them and use your PC. But for me - to my own suprise - I actually enjoy it and dont regret the buy. And to point out i got a very good PC, so thats not the issue.
