Is it still possible to buy the US version of WoW and play it from abroad.

Players in the past were able to buy a US copy then register on the US site but now it's redirecting you based on the IP when trying to make a new battlenet account. Has anyone tried this recently I searched around but there seems to be some problem with it in this thread I found.

Had this problem just a week ago. I made a ticket, asking for a US starter edition to be added to my EU account, the gm did it for me without question.
Good timing cause both the battle chest and WoD is on sale atm.

I started playing WoW with the EU version. Now, I'm living in the U.S and still on the EU version. So, vice versa should work.
