    Is this any good?

Intel Core i5-6600 Skylake Socket-LGA1151, Quad Core, 3.3GHz
    ASUS B150M-A, Socket-1151
    HyperX Fury 2400MHz 16GB (4x4GB) 16GB 2400MHz DDR4 Non-ECC CL15 DIMM
    MSI GeForce GTX 960 2GB
    Crucial® BX200 240GB 2.5” SSD
    Cooler Master B500 VER.2 KPC ATX 12V V2.3

friend of mine asked me if this was any good for around 1000 USD, he's clueless about this stuff and thinks I'm some kind of genius while I'm really pretty clueless too.

    any thoughts o PC gurus?

Well at a thousand can do better. I assume this is a Pre-built PC and these are just the core parts of the build? The ram and CPU are fairly decent but at the 1000$ marker you can score a better Graphics card.

I'd worry about what Power Supply its running too.

Thanks I'll pass that along, and yeah they are indeed part of a "prebuilt" type PC.

    A couple things.

    1) Is this a full system or just the parts? The parts alone are only worth $600. So if you're getting just parts for $1000, you're getting ripped off.
    2) The RAM and board are not compatible. It's DDR4 ram, and a DDR3 board.

It's a full system, I only mentioned the main components; it includes stuff like windows 10, the case, a 1tb HDD, hardly worth $400 though.

Are you sure about the ram not being compatible? Here's the full board "name" ASUS B150M-A, Socket-1151 mATX, B150, DDR4, 1xPCIe-x16, USB 3.0, VGA,DVI,HDMI

Maybe there's similar ones with DDR3?

Nevermind. Googling "ASUS B150M-A" comes up with the ASUS B150M-A D-3 which is the DDR3 version.
