Interestingly, to the obliviousness of most "westerners" these are the lines that are being drawn, if World War 3 happens, Russia will be on our side, and the battlegrounds will be Europe (thanks immigration), the caucasus, Lebanon, Israels occupied territories, Kashmir, and former soviet turkmen nations and Turkey itself, with the direction their lunatic president is taking them. I really don't understand the virulent anti-russianism the American government and foreign policy elite like to push. The Russians are so much more similar and friendly to western values and existence than any of these ragged allahu akbars invading Europe daily.

The word "clash" assumes a certain comparability of the clashed objects. ISIS, Al Qaeda and such are hardly comparable to NATO and the first world in general, both in terms of power and ideological sanity. The Cold War was a clash of civilizations: democracy and capitalism versus totalitarianism and pseudo-communism - the latter failed miserably, but stood its ground for the time being. The war against Middle Eastern terrorist groups is hardly a clash, more like a cleaning.

Also, there is definitely no "war against Islam". There is a war against almost negligible minority of Islam followers that took their religion to the absurd extreme. Islam itself is as good a religion as any, it is just religious perverts that the war is waged on.

Wrong, christianity does not have named and defined concepts of Martyrdom, Jihad, or Taqiyya. Also, the "negligible minority" of islam you speak of is wahabbism and salafism, originally spread by the Saudis to once progressive islamic countries such as afghanistan, egypt, and Morocco. Today however, Wahhabism is the chief islamic sect adhered to from morocco to Pakistan, and it is spreading further east still, into Bangledash. The result has been instability, a halt in social progress, the near complete purge of all other religions from these countries including christianity, and an inherent hatred for the west as an ultimate enemy. These are not views just held by ISIS darling, these are views now held by a majority of muslims in the middle east AND Europe.

Exactly, it would be more accurate to say civilization is in conflict with re-primitivization.
