    Phrases/sayings that should be revived

There's a lot of new vocabulary that people dislike these days. But if you could pepper everyone's speech with just 1 obsolete expression, what would it be?

I choose: Heavens to Betsy! (means "wow!")
TO FIX WOW:1. smaller server sizes & server-only LFG awarding satchels, so elite players help others. 2. "helper builds" with loom powers - talent trees so elite players cast buffs on low level players XP gain, HP/mana, regen, damage, etc. 3. "helper ilvl" scoring how much you help others. 4. observer games like in SC to watch/chat (like twitch but with MORE DETAILS & inside the wow UI) 5. guild leagues to compete with rival guilds for progression (with observer mode).6. jackpot world mobs.

I tend to use a ton of gambling references in real life despite not being a gambler.

"What a card" is an old term I kinda like.

^Pot calling the kettle black would refer to back when pots and kettles were made of iron. Iron was usually treated with oils which prevented it from rusting and instead caused it to form a black petina.

    Get a grip.

    Get over it.

    Stiff upper lip.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.

"Sticks and Stones" is an English language children's rhyme. It persuades the child victim of name-calling to ignore the taunt, to refrain from physical retaliation, and to remain calm and good-natured.
For you non-Brits out there. American college kids should have been told this.

People who think they're funny when they add "Thot" as a stem to a common black girl name.

    Thotnequia.

    Thotneishia.

    Etc.

'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
    All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

I don't know much about it, but I like it and I think its older: "It's all 6 of one, and a half-dozen of the other." Since I heard it I actually have found a couple of good situations for it, too.
