They are needed to fend off armor plated RPG wielding herds of deer which almost every r̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ ̶w̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶g̶u̶n̶ ̶n̶u̶t̶ hunter encounters. If you take away his guns he will be massacred the next time he goes hunting. That is his reality, you are far far out of touch with it.

As far as I'm aware, Semi-Automatic just means that, after you pull the trigger, one bullets comes out and prepares itself for the next trigger pull.

As opposed to automatic, which fires, prepares, and repeats for as long as you hold down the trigger.

So banning Semi-Automatic because "There's no need for civilian's to have such powerful weapons, these guns have no use other than mass-murder" is both wrong and silly. Maybe the confusion is in that not a lot of people understand what the term means?

Or maybe people realize how easy it is to tap the trigger 30 times, and kill 30 people? Few seconds to change the magazine, and yay for more killing.

So I'm still waiting for you to explain what you think semiauto means, but now you've shown that you don't know anything about jacketed vs non jacketed rounds.

Firstly, there are most certainly .30 cal jacketed rounds available for civilian purchase, and secondly, soft point rounds are more dangerous than jacketed rounds.
