In fairness, it was Republican congressmen who blocked multiple veteran's bills that were designed to fund programs to get homeless vets off the streets and into homes and treatment programs.

Fair enough but blaming regular people who happen to be conservative because of what politicians do is pretty stupid. I want to see homeless people get helped. Im a conservative. I also don't want Syrians here because we cant even help our own citizens well enough. He cant try and claim that I don't really care to help homeless because republicans blocked a bill. "I've noticed that Conservatives are quick to employ this excuse"

What are you talking about? I'm addressing the hypocrisy of Conservatives using the homeless as an excuse to deny refugee relocation.

Am I incorrect in my assessment?

When you say conservatives, do you mean politicans or just regular people?

I'm speaking directly to the principles of conservatism, and the individuals that support them. Fiscal conservatives, neo-conservatives. Etc.

So you think one thing and then vote for people who will do the opposite? Or is it just that the other issues conservative politicians support are more important?

I don't support based on one issue

    Good for you.
So because politicians enact certain laws, everyone that shares the same political party as them can be stereotyped? Its pretty bad to generalize that hard.

Other issues are more important to me as well. Im sure someone could pick something from any political party to make everyone of their supporters look bad.

"Conservative" is not a political party. It's a political philosophy. One that seeks to limit social programs to help the needy.

You are pretty much speaking directly about republicans when you say it though. And like I said, as a conservative, I have no problem helping needy people. I have problems with those that abuse it and those that think they should be supported forever. Conservatives aren't just heartless monsters like some people like to think.

There's something that I think everyone is forgetting about and that is back when we held Japanese people in internment camps back in WW2. Anyone who was Japanese, anyone, would be held in these camps because we feared they might be allies to the evil Japanese empire that we were fighting. It turned out that some of those Japanese people were our very own citizens. We actually put our own civilians in internment camps because we were too afraid of letting anyone with a Japanese descent in our country because we thought they were going to blow up the country or something.

Give this a read and tell me banning all Syrian refugees is still a good idea.
