Two England group games kicking off at 8pm, not bad.

So if England win their group they'll play the third placed team from group A, C or D. Not too many good teams in those groups. If we finish second we'll play the runner up in Group F. Nothing tricky there, either.

D looks pretty strong. I'd say the third place team there, whoever it is, would be tougher than the 2nd placed team from group F

Awesome draw for Portugal, 9 points easy.

Group E is a killer. If you finish runner up you'll likely play Portugal as your reward. Oh, but then there's a chance you'll get England in the quarter finals so swings and roundabouts I guess.

I like Belgium being in the group of death. Hopefully they'll show what class they have and come top of the group.

with how many teams qualify for the knockout rounds, there isn't a group of "death"

    Oh come on

All groups are pretty much equally strong/weak. To the point I doubt its actually random

Gonna have to disagree there. France and Portugal's groups are clearly weaker than everyone elses

In some groups you have one strong, three weak and in some others two strong, two weak teams.

The groups where you only have one strong team is actually preferable, because it means you have a chance to get 2nd despite being shit in reality.

A death group is three strong teams, and one weak team that's basically just fodder. As such, the only death group I see is D, with Croatia, Turkey and Spain.

As a Spaniard, I'm not too worried about our group. The biggest concern I have is Del Bosque calling up and playing players such as Diego Costa.

My favorite team is France. My all prayers and best wishes are with that team.

Just posting that we'll be using this thread as the official Euro 2016 discussion thread!

I wouldn't be so sure. You know our players, they play better in groups of death than in "easy groups". And the gap between all teams, it's getting less noticeable each year. There's no longer that thing of the top 10 in the rank always beating the others.

(Lol j/k we're shite and failed to qualify)

FWIW I want Belgium to win.

Cracking set of players who I hope have something to show.
