Adult me can't love this film as much as younger me loved the first one. I will watch it, probably from Redbox though. It doesn't look bad, but it just looks typical. I can't say that is thrilling to me anymore.

im confused...didnt the pres say when he got MC'd that "they're like locusts, moving from planet to planet, their entire civilization..." (emphasis added). doesn't that mean we blew up their entire civilization? who exactly is "resurging" in massive motherships? at work and cant check that website though. Does it provide any details on that?

Who says this wasn't rushed? We know nothing about the history of production of this movie. Just b/c they waited decades to make another one does't mean they've been carefully crafting a logical plot worthy of Oscars to regale us with.

Not really exited since the only reason I'd really watch a sequel is for Will Smith.

"After Earth" was a flop but I think Will Smith's performance was good, considering the script he had to work with.

They have the luxury to turn down movie roles if the script is bad. No excuses.

If Smith hadn't asked for so much damn money...and demanded that his son be cast in it, he might have been in the movie. But I guess he's bought into his own hype. So they responded with a "lol naa we can just say your character died in an accident."

I don't think we need this sequel, but they made W.S. look like the clown he turned into over the past few years, so props to them.

I cannot say I am going into this movie expecting academy awards. Give me some good effects, good action, and a decent enough story to move those two things along and I will be ok with it.
