Their own respective media is likely full of news regarding the US...which, if nothing else, makes the country sound so much more exciting than their own.

Its not about better or worse. We have a lower drinking age for example (which IMO is bad).

I think you actually need to work in the other direction - why did Europe become much more open than traditional norms? The United States is probably somewhere in the ballpark of the world median when it comes to norms around sexuality, while Europe has become remarkably libertine.

With regard to a couple of your other specific questions, it's worth mentioning that a lot of what you said is just flatly inaccurate.

Wrong. Europe is more traditional, yet we don't act like you when talking about sex.
So explain why showing someone's head getting blown off is fine, but talking about sex isn't? Why aren't both fine, or both bad?
