Horde Possible to exploit airport connection flight system?

Possible to exploit airport connection flight system?

I was wondering what happens if I book connection flight and miss first one that leads to connection destionation and from there it takes off to final destination.

Basically book flight A to B which connects (stop) at C, can I miss A to C and go directly from C to B?

Will my whole journey will be cancelled if I miss main flight to connection airport?

    Thanks in advance!

Well basically there's flights 4 times cheaper than the ones without connection, basically flying from A to B (with stop at C) costs me 250 vs if I fly from C to B it cost me 1000.

My point is that I'm living at C while the cheap flights actually fly from A to C then to B but I don't want to waste time flying from C to A so I can do flight A to C to B.

You fail to show for the first leg, the rest of the itinary will be cancelled as well.

The only exploit that currently (sort-of) works, is where you book a flight from A to B with a connection in C, and then only fly A to C.

You usually get a ticket for each flight, so you could take any of them individually even if you miss others.. You'd have to get there in time, but ticked will be valid if you do.

Are you sure? When I've booked with connections I've gotten separate tickets for each one.

this is what I thought as well that I should get seperate tickets.

also if issue would be to get past passport control or one of those electronic barcode gates, could just book cheap flight D just to get past barcode gate and then rip it and use ticket that was for C to B.

Even if you can, I'm not sure if you would want to in these times. An irregularity in your booking might well get you flagged for suspicious activity. In earlier years, maybe not a problem but in the current environment I'm not sure how things would work.
With COVID-19 making its impact on our lives, I have decided that I shall hang in there for my remaining days, skip some meals, try to get children to experiment with making henna patterns on their skin, and plant some trees. You know -- live, fast, dye young, and leave a pretty copse. I feel like I may not have that quite right.

What do you expect to gain??

Cheaper flight. Flying from A to B through C is often cheaper than flying straight from A to C or C to B. With connecting flights, the prices are based on initial and final destinations and tend to ignore the actual connection point. If A is middle of nowhere, low demand with respect to flights to B, but connects through C - which is a bigger city with higher demand for flights to B - it will typically have a lower price for the two flights than just the single one from C to B.

You can try but you risk your flights being cancelled - they have the right to cancel your journey if you do not show for part of it. I'm sure many many many people have tried this before and that is why this policy is in place for a lot of airlines. Then you would have to pay for a new ticket to be issued.

I've thought about doing this in the past as I live in Australia but travel to North America to visit family. Direct flights will always be more expensive than ones with many connections. There is a website called Flyertalk - if you haven't checked it out already I would. They have some great tips and advise on there.

You don't always get through customs at C if you didn't board at A.

In Holland it is sometimes cheaper to go to Brussels by train, fly back to Amsterdam Airport and then get on the original intended plane departing at Amsterdam Airport. However, this is only valid when you actually board at Brussels.

I have thought about customs as if I book such flight and to get through customs, basically buy cheap flight to Y with some cheap companies like ryanair or easyjet for example that cost few GBP to go just country nearby, but once you pass customs with ticket that's intended for flight to Y, you just go to gate that goes to B destination.

TBH I don't even fly regularly but I thought some kid made an app that basically trawled the airlines to se if there was a random ass "A to B via C" flights to get you an A to C ticket as cheap as possible.

Ive contacted British Airways to see where they stand with this and they told me that they would called whole journey if I wouldnt make first leg. Also for those who had similar idea to get out at C while flight back would be B to A...problem would only be if you have luggage as airport would just pass over in airport C to load luggage for flight C to A unless you have luggage youre fine. Also possibility would be to make agreement in aiport B on return flight to check in luggage till airport C but aiport can always decline such request.
