    Do you have a maid?

Alot of my colleagues have maids. Because with 2 fully employed people, kids and whatnot they cba to do the dishes, vacuum, etc.
They pay about 150 euro's a month for one (shes there like 4h a week) and it seems pretty neat. I was actually surprised how common it was.

Looking at how often we fight about who has to do what (protip: I work 45h and you work 38 therfor you should put in 7h more in household choirs is NOT a valid argument) and knowing you can just go home and everythings neat and dandy sounds great. So i sure as hell am considering it.

So do you have a maid? Why?

We have a service that comes in and cleans every two weeks, but that's it. I do my own laundry and dishes.

If you have enough money for a maid you have too much money.

I do all of my own housecleaning, but then I'm also single and have no kids. So it's not too huge of a job in my case.

I have a housekeeper that comes every 2 weeks. Best money I ever spent. I think it would take me 2-3 times as long to do what she does and I'd rather play video games instead.

Yeah. She comes once every two weeks, takes around 2 hours to clean the whole place.

There's 6 apartments here so we initially pitched in to get the hallway/stairs cleaned, decided to hire her.

I think it's definitely worth it, I'd rather work for a few hours to pay her than clean the place myself. It's just twice a month and only dusting/floors/surfaces though, so it's not like I don't have to clean at all.

That's more than my rent when I had an apt.

Lot of people wind up marrying their maids.

No, my parents raised me to clean up after myself, I can't imagine ever needing a maid past my girlfriend having the costume.

.. What? Was this in 1950? Where are you from?

A student dorm costs 250 at LEAST here. And im not talking about Amsterdam.

I'm about one more client away from one. Stoked.

And I'm talking cleaning service, not live in crazy butler stuff.

Though if I win the lottery, I'll be hiring a stern matronly female butler.

That's way more reasonable than 150 euros a month.

I had my exchange rate off and the euro has fallen in relation to the dollar, but my old apt was like 300 bucks.
