So my guild is situated on a rather low population realm. We are not hardcore by any means, a few mythic kills under our belts and that suits me fine. That's kinda the level I want to play at these days so no problem there for me.
However it's how we actually approach our raids that annoys the shit out of me. There is literally no loot system in place with a simple "roll if you want it" approach taken. As you can imagine this has led to some loot discrepancies amongst our raid group and growing malcontent.
Our officer team and raid leader are often the ones least au fait with boss tactics.
We have people turning up to raid without consumables, or expecting summons from their garrison due to simple laziness. Hell some of our core raiders can't be assed to get flying. Some turn up looking enchants and gems done mid raid rather than sorting beforehand. Some people seem to need to take time to redo their UIs mid raid.
That's all annoying enough and I'm sure happens here and there in many guilds. Don't get me wrong it wasn't always like this, it just seems to have got a lot worse lately. The one thing that really irks me though is the length of time we spend in wipe recovery. Someone brings up some random topic of conversation completely unrelated to what we are doing and a few people trail off on a tangent for a while without any officer pulling the focus back. Part of the growing problem here I guess is that the guild doesn't seem to socialise in game outside of raids so raid time has now become social time... I actually started a stopwatch to see the downtime. It averaged at 7 minutes...
Am I right to be annoyed here or am I overreacting and expecting too much?
