I assume many Jews left Russia during the Soviet Union days because religion was outlawed? Wasn't there some antisemitism too?

Anyway, many Jews are now leaving European countries like France and Germany because of antisemitism fears do to Muslim immigrants and Muslim nationals. Maybe some non-Muslim hate too.

Putin says these Jews can return to Russia. I suspect most will got to Israel or the US.

Russian president Vladimir Putin has met with European Jewish leaders to discuss their concerns over rising anti-Semitism on the continent.

During the meeting, Putin pointed out that many Jews emigrated from Moscow when it was part of the former Soviet Union. He said now they can come back.

The president of the European Jewish Congress, Moshe Kantor said the number of Jews fleeing Europe is also on the rise.

“The situation with the Jews in Europe is the worst it has been since the end of the Second World War,” said Kantor. “The Jews are again in fear and a Jewish exodus from Europe is quite real. There are more Jews fleeing France, which is considered very secure, than from civil-war-torn Ukraine.”

“Let them come here,” said Putin. “They emigrated from here under Soviet Union, but now they can come back.”

Germany has absorbed over one million refugees from mainly Muslim-majority countries.

German Jewish leaders have warned about rising anti-Semitism because the refugees are socialized in countries that are steeped in hatred of Jews and Israel.

The detailed taggeschau.de report, which was authored by Patrick Gensing, an expert in extremist ideologies, wrote that anti-Semitic sentiments have diverse manifestations in Germany. He cited studies that point to “historical defensive guilt [about the Holocaust], obsessive criticism of Israel, National Socialist racism, Muslim anti-Semitism [and] Christian anti-Semitism.”

Gensing wrote about a “wave of hatred” at the “hate-filled demonstrations against the Gaza War” in 2014. An Israeli couple were attacked during that period. Also, three Palestinians attempted to torch a Wuppertal city synagogue – one that had previously been burned by Germans in 1938. A local court sentenced the Palestinians to probation and stated that the act of arson was not anti-Semitic because the men sought to draw attention to the Gaza war.

Around 1968 there was a big wave of persecution towards Jews in communist block countries because of cold war and Israel - Arab war where USA was supporting Israel so ofc soviet union had to be against Israel and Jews. Logic... So yeah a lot of them were exiled back then. Don't know the details but I'm sure you can google it up if you care.

It's true though, that despite all the antisemitic past, today in Russia Jews feel much safer than in "civilized" Western Europe.

What's going in certain European countries today is beyond disgusting: in France, Sweden and Belgium it certainly feels like 1930s are back again, thanks to Muslim migrants spreading the antisemitism and the hatred for Jews.

This hatred very often echoes on this forums in form of all kind of anti-Israeli posts and pro-Arabic propaganda; thus, very often MMO-Champion's antisemitic posters hide their true feelings about Jews under "anti-Zionism" mask.

Such things don't happen in Russia though. Putin certainly deserves some respect, at least for keeping such "lovely" stuff outside. Despite all the criticism, the economic difficulties, etc. I have no concerns about Russians surviving as a nation, unlike few Western European states.
