I'm thinking the Old Gods would not oppose a Legion invasion with brute force, or even if they did it would be just for show. The Old Gods would be fine with the Legion conquering Azeroth because then they would just start whispering to them. The Old Gods treat everyone like potential hosts/pawns. Their mind games don't care if your sword is big enough to split planets.

You know aside from the fact that it was proven the old gods have no sway over titans considering the titans beat their face in.

The Titans beat their face in and how much difference did it make? The Old Gods just bided their time, whispered to the watchers, and ended up running Ulduar. That's just what they do!

It makes a lot of difference, actually. They (the Old Gods) went from pretty much Azeroth's rulers to being imprisoned (Yogg & some others unnamed), outright killed (Y'Shaarj), or having to hide away until today (N'Zoth). Seeing how much effort they put into trying to get free, they don't seem to be enjoyed getting imprisoned after all - in other words, they probably couldn't help it instead of intentionally losing to the Titans as some kind of tactical retreat. It took them ages to corrupt Deathwing & the Watchers - which means they are likely unable to do it swiftly enough (otherwise, there isn't any reason they wouldn't do it much earlier). The Legion isn't going to conquer Azeroth and stay there for the OGs to corrupt them. After finish conquering us and taking whatever they want, they likely would just destroy Azeroth and move to next target as they did to the many worlds they conquered before.

Moreover, getting beaten by the Titans after a long war shows that the Old Gods, even at their full power, can't manipulate the Titans with their whisper. Since Sargeras was the Pantheon's champion, which means he was one of the strongest among the Titans, it's fair to assume that it will be as hard for the Old Gods to manipulate him (if it's even possible). Sargeras is more powerful than the whole Legion combined, so even if (and it's a big IF) the Old Gods by some miracle gained control of the whole Burning Legion, it wouldn't matter much to Sargeras other than giving him some more targets to destroy and delaying his ultimate goal of destroying everything in the universe to remake it a little bit. So yeah, their mind games do care, they can't really play that move when they are cleaved in half together with the planet, after all.

Aside from however long the war was, the titans stayed on Azeroth for many ages afterwards as they Ordered the planet. That's a long time the OGs had to try to corrupt the titans.

Clearly it was fine example of reverse psychology. They could corrupt them, but they didn't to build titans confidence. All according to plan.

Saying that the Old gods ruled Azeroth is a term being used too loosely. As if to imply they had a shared/ordered empire. It was pure chaos, and they fought each other, there wasn't a true empire. Depending on the lore, roughly 4/5/6 gods just fought each other, and would have gone back to that had they been a match for the titans.

As for corruption, till this day, no true titan has been corrupted by any old god. The watchers in Ulduaar were, but they are not titans.

The true power of the old gods are their numbers and their ability to absorb magics. All the old gods we have faced on Azeroth have not been full power or anywhere near full power. People need to remember that Azeroth is not the only planet infected with "Old Gods"

To me the Old Gods most resemble the Zerg pre-overmind from starcraft. They are individually not the strongest of beings but they are not pushovers and they are constantly fighting each other for power. However if the Old gods ever fully came under the control of one supremem being like an overmind, their combined force could easily counter the burning legion.

Now pitting Sargeras directly against an old god is stupid. Thats like saying a zergling against a zealot is going to win. But 2 zerglings become tougher, 3, 4, 5, 6 zerglings suddenly begin to overwhelm the zealot. Sure some OG's/Zerglings die but the combined force will dominate the single zealot.

Army wise though, Old God's are just as efficient at corrupting races and making them minions such as the naga, and the nerubians.

Why is this bullshit continuously said?

Blizzard confirmed that Cthun was 100% free and in full power, and was killed by us, Yogg was nearly 100% free and empowered and was killed by us. Y'sharraj was 100% free and powered and was ripped apart and killed by mogu.

Except Sarg wouldn't be a zealot in this case, Sarg would be a Archon, if not stronger. A non pantheon titan was able to get a double KO on Cthun.
