    The 'What I miss' Thread

The game has changed a lot over the years so here is a thread to remanise about 'things' and 'abilities' past that made PvP fun for YOU!

    - PvP before the Global Cool-down as a Mage .. poor warriors looool

    - Ability to mark enemy players during PvP .. healers QQ was loud and non stop but a skull mark on top of enemy healer right out of the gate was damn fun to watch an entire team all attack that skull non stop all game hahaha

    You?

I miss 2h enhancement. Unstoppable Force with big windfury procs kept me pvp'ing for hours on end.

Buddy (resto druid) was saying how his 2's team with DK sometimes didn't have enough firepower, so he specced into insect swarm. I respec'd into insect swarm and omgosh, I went from fairly unkillable to fairly unkillable who was reliably killing dps. Melee had no chance (still had thorns) and with moon beams and swarm... haha.

Now it's like, I hope help comes, otherwise I'll eventually run out of mana or fall asleep.

I miss the sense of achivement and the reward of upgrading your charachter.
    I miss prestige (see above).
I miss the community and the social interaction pre cata.
I miss when the game was "clean" in terms of spells buffs and debuffs etc.
I miss when each class brought their own very clear advantages and disadvantages to the table.

I miss the old nostalgia, back in cata we thought the game wasn't what it used to be in a much better way.

Their was no "before the global cooldown". It exists since day one...

As a dwarf player: Stoneform that not only removed poison/bleed/disease effects, but made you immune to them for its duration. The "immune for duration" part got removed after DKs came along and bitched about it, iirc.

I'm pretty happy with Stoneform the way it is now though. It's still a pretty solid racial.

As a feral druid I really miss my older play style, I was a highly versatile character, with low burst and high mobility and survivability. Also, I could survive stuns.

As for abilities: baskskin (oh boy, do I miss that), hibernate (using it on ghost form resto shamans and resto druids after displacer beast, never felt so pro in my life), nature's grasp, actually have something to press in /a reason to go bear form, symbiosis (I know it was broken, but I miss it) and lifebloom.

I also miss bleed snapshots, it was fun to see the damage difference of a higher skilled player.

    Finally, I miss profession bonus.

Old Alterac Valley. The most fun I ever had in this game. I'd resub immediately if it came back.

This and the Enhancement Tank. I remember I think it was one of the shocks still pulled a ridiculous amount of threat because it never got a complete redesign from the tank concept.

Also I really miss throttling DPS. For some reason Blizz thought making players actively consider their DPS output was a bad mechanic, so DPS should just nuke at all times.

I miss the happy times in Vanilla, TBC and the first half of WotlK before LFG and cross-servers was introduced. Having to wait and put an effort into finding a group, combined with not wanting to get a bad reputation on the server, taught (most) players to be patient and polite in groups.

That and I miss having to watch my agro as a DPS class – but then I don’t miss not being able to kill a fly as a Tank

I miss when weapons played a bigger role back in the day during BC. i.e Maces stun locked.
When raids weren't old content and you can skip the first raid that came out and jump to the last one right away. Like you had to do the previous Tier and get geared enough to enter the next tier i miss that now we blow right through that content.
I miss the world pvp at xroads and southshore.
I miss a little bit of the old talent trees.
I miss when there wasn't so much CC like there is now we get one trinket but 15-20 different CC lol.
Any prize that's worth having usually requires a risk. No matter how big the risk don't ever think twice just do it!

I miss when the game was unbalanced but fun.

Nowadays it's not balanced, AND not fun.

I guess the main thing I miss are finite resources. It's why I quit my warrior. If every class was like warrior with limited defensive options that just END once your cooldowns are down then we'd have us a more fun game. no more 30 minute immortal healer matches, or rogue humping pillars with that little heal.

HP and Mana should be less bouncy, and should run out at a reasonable time. That's all I really wish for.

And this. You had two armies struggling back and forth for hours just to gain inches of ground, and there were plenty of things you could do to help your team out if you didn't directly participate in that back and forth struggle. You could do quests to summon elemental bosses, get elite NPCs on your side, and so on. A single AV could last for hours, if not days. It felt like an actual war. I loved it.

I hate the way it works now. Current AV is just a zergfest. As an Alliance player...I rush south to IBT (and some small group breaks off to deal with Galv), hang out there until it's done, then go hang out at TP for the last few seconds it has, then go in with the rest of the group and down Drek. I've done a lot of AVs without ever encountering a single Horde player, and it's usually over in like....15 minutes, if even that long (even when the Horde side wins, it's still over quickly). I can't even remember the last time I saw one of the elemental bosses.
