    First PC build ever!

    Hello everyone!

I'm so excited to be building my first pc. I used to play wow up until 3 years ago and I want to start playing it again along with some of the newer games coming out. I always played on a crappy laptop on low graphics and want to see the game at its most beautiful. I'm no expert by any means but I have done some serious research on this build. I was hoping that I can get some feedback on my build. Your help would be greatly appreciated. I am going with an AMD build for now and will possibly upgrade once their new CPUs are released.

    AMD fx 6300
    hyper 212 evo cooler
    MSi R9 380 4gb video card
    Msi 970 gaming Mobo
8 gb g. Skillz ripjaws ram
Evga 600b 600 watt power supply
WD caviar blue 1 TB HD
    Phanteks enthoo pro case

Good job of doing it yourself.

I dont really have any feedback on your parts as im no expert aswell..
Althought I would suggest spending some money on an SSD, it will change your life.

This one is pretty solid and not that expensive, it will let you have your OS + couple games on it.

Keep an HDD for music, photos, documents etc.

Thanks! I will definitely look into an ssd down the road when I get some extra cash

Hello there, fill up the forums sticky quoted below to help you more.

Include the following information when posting a request.

    Budget
    Resolution
    Games / Settings Desired
Any other intensive software or special things you do (Frequent video encoding, 3D modeling, etc)
    Country
    Parts that can be reused
    Do you need an OS?
Do you need peripherals (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc)?

Ideally include a list of parts, we see the same request almost every day. There are other topics that have parts lists that you can copy and modify.

Agree on the ssd, I got one in my recent build I don't regret it one bit x)

If you're tight on money, even a 50$ish 120GB one is worth it imho. The one I got is a 120GB from Kingston, I got Win10, WoW, HotS and most other software on it and still have some 40GB free I believe. The loading screens in WoW are amazing xD Boot time (from click to fully loaded startup software) is about 30 seconds at most.

But if you can spare the money for sure go for at least a 250GB one or more, it's not "necessary", but it's certainly a great quality of (computing) life improvement

Include the following information when posting a request.

Budget- well my birthday just passed and as a gift I received the case for free. My wife is buying my graphics card next week so that is not coming out my funds as well. So the rest is basically as cheap as i can get it for now.
    Resolution- 1080p
Games / Settings Desired- wow, the division, far cry primal
Any other intensive software or special things you do (Frequent video encoding, 3D modeling, etc)- none
    Country- USA
Parts that can be reused- none
Do you need an OS?- yes windows 10
Do you need peripherals (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc)? I need a monitor

The case is a good one but your probably seen that since you have it already
Just to take this off to start with forget amd cpu's if you want to play any cpu intensive games like wow. Performance is night a day apart even compared to an intel 2core.
Now depending how much you want to invest you can go for an i3 or i5.

1st option and the best if you can afford it, can overlock and you can always get an ssd like the samsung 850evo, just get a 250/256gb one cause 120gb is too small nowadays.

Also my wife will be buying my gpu. I plan on going for the r9 380 because the 970 is out of my price range. I was looking at the sapphire nitro version and the msi gaming version. Any recommendations for which one?

Ok thank you. I'll probably go with the msi gaming since it will match the board and ram lol
