Question Why Would Anyone Not Want to Vote for Bernie Sanders

Just based on two things alone free college tuition and free healthcare that are payed for by taxing corporations and super rich that whom already pay very little in taxes?

Trump doesn't want to give the people anything. In fact, he wants to take away from the people by lowering the minimum wage. Hillary just wants to keep things exactly as they are now, which is already corrupt. I don't know much about Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio.

It makes sense that Bernie Sanders is the only logical candidate to vote for because he is the only one that will provide things for the people. The entire thing has me flummoxed, and I guess it ties into the bigger question of "why do American's hate socialism so much?"

Really the only reason would be stupidity, I can't think of another one or if you think Gary Johnson could actually win.

That sounds like a really superficial reason to not vote for someone.

I would say roughly half the anti-SJW people are pro Bernie.

Because they disagree with his politics, or like his politics but don't think they are realistic.

I like most of what he is proposing but I don't like his stance on guns.

I was actually surprised to find out that he is only about 5 years older than Trump and Clinton, I think the problem with Bernie Sanders is superficial if he was in his 50's he would most likely get the nomination. Bernie Sanders just looks like he is in his 80's and about to die any day now.

I dislike Hillary. I might vote for Kasich on the other side. Problem with Bernie is everything he has stated and in this thread is almost a pipe dream. Chris Matthews asked him more or less; "If Republicans opposed Obama and called him a socialist. Why would they support your policies". Bernie gave the reply of a whole revolution. Now that is a very HUGE political change. In order to implement your policies you would have to change lets say a good 60% of the U.S. into true liberals/socialist-democrats

The way I see it, no president accomplished all they stated they wanted to do. But if he could get even 1/4 of it done, it would be more useful to the country then 1/4 of anything any other candidate says they want to do.

Even if his ideas are "pipe dreams" doesn't it make sense to aim really high, even if he fails at accomplishing everything he wants aiming high will still get a lot done.

    Key Findings:

Senator Sanders (I-VT) would enact a number of policies that would raise payroll taxes and individual income taxes, especially on high-income households.
Senator Sanders’s plan would raise tax revenue by $13.6 trillion over the next decade on a static basis. However, the plan would end up collecting $9.8 trillion over the next decade when accounting for decreased economic output in the long run.
A majority of the revenue raised by the Sanders plan would come from a new 6.2 percent employer-side payroll tax, a new 2.2 percent broad-based income tax, and the elimination of tax expenditures relating to healthcare.
According to the Tax Foundation’s Taxes and Growth Model, the plan would significantly increase marginal tax rates and the cost of capital, which would lead to 9.5 percent lower GDP over the long term.
On a static basis, the plan would lead to 10.56 percent lower after-tax income for all taxpayers and 17.91 percent lower after-tax income for the top 1 percent. When accounting for reduced GDP, after-tax incomes of all taxpayers would fall by at least 12.84 percent.

If you increase the taxes on corporations, guess what, they will leave the country even faster than they already are. Thus unemployment goes up.

Or if they stay, they will pass the costs on to the employees/consumers.

Sorry, less government and less taxes is more my cup of tea. After all, anyone who values their privacy should understand that the more the government does for them the less privacy they have.

Hell I'm a Republican and I'd vote for him over any of the lunatics currently going for the Repub ticket.

But IMO Hillary Clinton is a liar at best and a criminal at worst. So if it came down to either her or a Repub, I'd chose the Republican.

Exactly, so it still makes the most sense to vote for Bernie even if his ideas are "pipe dreams."

People voting against their own self-interest is nothing new. Funny how even in the age of mass information people can still be so woefully uninformed. That being said even if he did win he would stand virtually 0 chance of actually achieving any of his goals. Electing a President alone isn't good enough to generate real change. It didn't work with Obama and it wouldn't work with Sanders either.

You clearly haven't studied his tax plan, nor have any understanding of economics.
