    Computer Upgrade

So i tried playing Black Desert and Blade and Soul with my current PC but its so old that i am 100% sure i need a new GPU and maybe a Monitor also

    Spec
    CPU : Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ @ 2.4Ghz
    GPU: Nvidia 9600 GT
    RAM: GEIL GEC38GB1333C9DC 8GB (2X4GB) DDR3 1333MHZ PC3-10660 ENHANCE CORSA DUAL CHANNEL KIT
Power : 650Watt a crappy one so proly it gives around 500watt
    Motherboard : ASROCK G41MH/USB3 REV.2 RETAIL
    Monitor : viewsonic va1916w-4

fairly old pc but didnt had the time to go hardcore the past 4 years So i was thinking just to replace the GPU with a new one to increase my FPS inside Black desert and Blade and Soul . CPU usage during Black desert and Blade and soul its not high around 60% . Ram also with Chrome 12 tabs on skype , discord and the game up its around 65%-75%. I would like some opinions about a GPU with Value/Money since i cannot afford to go Top End just to buy something around 150euro to last me some a couple years on the current games and upcoming ones .
    Best regards

Black Desert is a very demanding game, to even go above medium settings they suggest 4GB of memory on your GPU and yours has around 500MB.

In the 150$ euro budget I would suggest a r7 370 or a 960, but at that budget the 960's pretty much come with only 2gb, the 4gb is much more. but the r7 370 is much more affordable with 4gb. I think one of these would be most beneficial.

This is just how much of one, as you can see pretty huge increase.

And yes you will want to upgrade your monitor, this card does quite well at 1080p which is become the norm for gaming. Depends how much you want to spend on one

Honestly for upgrading from some an old system, you might want to consider expanding your budget just a little to get something that will last longer, rather than buying a GPU now, and having to upgrade again too soon (A year, maybe two)

Well if you decide to expand your budget obviously the r7 370 I stated above could be sub situated with something better.

I just upgraded this month, due to wanting to play black desert on higher settings and a 380 4GB has done VERY well so far. 40-50 FPS in combat on high settings for black desert. 1080p.

I would not go past a 960 or a 380 if you don't plan to pay much for a new monitor, a 380 is plenty for a 1080p screen, if you jump to 1440p which is quite a bit more money. you can consider a 970, 390, 390x, 980. which is also quite a bit more money. 250-500 euro.

I suggest from personal experience, if you really want to see a performance boost from graphics, grab yourself a r9 380 4GB. I did this month and I don't regret it at all, great price point at 160 euro and everything runs extremely well.

Another thing to remember, is later this year new graphics cards will come out, so if you want to wait for that, it's also an option.. they promise some pretty big things. But then you're waiting 4-5 months from now, if they are in stock, new drivers that usually are buggy and a premier price of 20-30% at the start.

    So I suggest a 380 4GB version, and a 1080p monitor . example

    Total: £236.68

    I found this one
    XFX Radeon R9 380 Black Edition, 4GB GDDR5, 2x DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort (R9-380P-4DB5) for 200euro
    and
    nVidia GeForce GTX 960 SSC GAMING ACX 2.0+ 4GB DDR5 PCI-E DVI HDMI Triple-DP (EVGA) (04G-P4-3967-KR) for 220e
Should I consider buying the GTX960 maybe ?
and for Monitor i was thinking this one

The 960 and the 380 are so close on almost everything you look up that people will tell you to go for whatever you prefer and whats cheaper, which would be the 380.

Black edition is pretty much the factory over clocked some of the features for you, but you can do that yourself with pretty much any 380 you pick. So if you're looking to save money the black edition is not worth it. You can get something like the http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-Gam...ct_top?ie=UTF8

for 170 and being the G1 its pretty smooth over clocking from personal experience ( lights up on side and says windforce in blue though be ware ) in case it wouldn't match your build.

The monitor you picked is a good deal in my eyes, good resp time, good price, prime, and a ton of positive reviews. Wont get much better for that price range.

do you think if i buy the 380 or maybe the 950 i would get the so called Bottleneck since my CPU is kinda old ?

I strongly suggest replacing the PSU with the best quality one you can afford before buying a new monitor.

I am assuming the PSU is old. You already said it crappy so there is that :P

Is it possible to suggest me a psu that is compatible to my needs ? Furthermore about this "bottleneck" are you sure by buying one of those graphics cards that they are going to give their full power considering my CPU ( Q6600 2,4ghz Intel core 2 quad)

    I would do this.

    1) Get a new PSU (Find the model of your current one, just so we know)
    2) Get the 380
    3) Overclock your Q6600 to 3.0-3.2

See how it runs from there. You NEED to get a new GPU regardless, and if it doesn't cut it in the CPU department, the GPU can carry over to a new build. The Q6600 will bottleneck some, depending on the game, however less so when you crank it up.

Yeah replace it, its honestly crap. The cheapest decent ones around, usually, are xfx-ts 550w or antec hgc 520w. With either of those you can power a new pc with an R9 380 or gtx960, or even a gtx970.

Sub 180euro your only option is a gtx950, all the amd R7 370 and the like are garbage, they don't pass even min requirements on some games. If you can go close to 200-220 grab either an R9 380 or a high overclocked gtx960. Just don't get a reference blower.

Use skroutz.gr and try to locate a shop near you that also sells the cheapest. You probably know this already, just posting to make sure.

Fwiw, my old machine was a Core2 Quad 9450 @ 3.4ghz and my old GTX 770 was bottlenecked pretty hard by it.
