Turkey explosion: Reports of casualties in central Ankara

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe...ource=facebook

A huge explosion has taken place in the Kizilay neighbourhood of the Turkish capital Ankara, with reports of injuries.
State-run broadcaster TRT said a car bomb had exploded near a bus stop.

Witnesses say the explosion happened near the main bus station on Ataturk boulevard and close to many government ministries. Some vehicles were on fire.

Last month, a bomb attack on a military convoy in Ankara killed 28 people and wounded dozens more.
The Turkish Hurriyet newspaper said the latest blast happened at about 18:35 (16:35 GMT) in the Guven park in Kizilay, and that many ambulances were at the scene.

It said that the area was being evacuated in case there was a second attack.
Last month's bombing was claimed by a Kurdish militant group, the Kurdistan Freedom Hawks (TAK). It said on its website that the attack was in retaliation for the policies of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkey, however, blamed a Syrian national who was a member of another Kurdish group.
Last October, more than 100 people were killed in a double-suicide bombing at a Kurdish peace rally in Ankara.

There was also a assault on a tourist hotel some other place a few hours ago, with the usual allah akbar screams.

Nvm that was some other place.

Nothing more than a routine for Erdogan's Turkey. An mistake in your post: Double-suicide bomb was not a "Kurdish rally" it was a socialist rally composed of both Turks and Kurds. People of Turkish ethnicity died there too.

Yay, more reasons to bomb the kurds even though there is no proof it was kurds and not ISIS involved.

Previous bombing was claimed by a PKK off-shoot. This is highly likley to be same...

Same pattern as the blast a while back.

Booby trapped car + bus/bus stop.

Another desperate attack by PKK (highly likely) on civilians since it's curfew plans didn't end well.

Death toll is 27 so far and total of 75 wounded. Some claim that the death toll is over 100.

I'm disappointed. I came here expecting somebody blew up a turkey.

It's a detonation, not suicide bomber (as far as I know) but suicide bombing is not something alien to PKK. They did it before.

I could be wrong tho. There aren't any official statements yet. It's mostly speculation.

Might be an inside job, it's a little too convenient.
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side

Again? I guess the country is relying heavily on the tourism but still, this is freedom of speech, to be able to talk about what is happening around you (and be able to prove it).

It's mostly a crowd control thing. It happens whenever an incident with political damage potential occurs.
