PSU High Pitched Noise

Morning Folks,

My Antec 650w PSU is about 4 1/2 years old and earlier this week it started to make a low but noticable high pitched noise. Wife can't hear it which makes it difficult to explain why I might need a new PSU...

I get mixed messages googling the problem some say it's just a coil whine and it's fine, other say it's a sign of it failing, so my question is, is it safe to my other components to just leave it or if I should replace it asap?

I can't hear it whilst gaming so I can manage with the noise for now, assuming it's safe. Also looking at upgrading my GPU within the near future and I'd rather not have it blow up if the PSU is unsafe.
