    Windows 7 geeks [HELP ME]

    Hi!

I need help accessing my friend's PC. Here's what happened:

My friend made a password and forgot it. THe PC is brand new and he really needs access to it. We've tried accessing windows from Safe Mode and CMD but it still takes me to the login screen where it asks for the password. How to access Adminstrator mode without having to login ? I've looked up some guides and what not but they it still takes me to the same result. I'm no genius and I know I shouldn't ask on an MMO forum but any help would be great

    Thanks in advance.

I have previously used this successfully on a Windows 7 system.

Basically you use an image to create a bootable CD or USB Flash Drive.
You can then boot off that to bypass windows and reset the password.

A guide here to using it here, from a compilation disc of many other tools.

Hirens BootCD is a handy thing, I`ve had to use this several times for when people have had their pcs locked by pesky kids & the like.

+1 for this. It's one of the handiest things I have in my kit. I've also successfully used it on a Server 2008 machine as well as Windows 8.1. Haven't tried it on Server 2012 (although it's supposed to work for that) or Windows 10 yet.

Far as I know, the only time it doesn't work on most versions of Windows is when you're dealing with some kind of volume/drive encryption (Bitlocker or something).

Sorry for late reply, Had a rough week.
Thanks for the kind replies. So this will allow me to reset the password even if I can't access the PC itself right?

You put them onto a cd, boot that & do it all from there on in.

You need to create a password reset disk with another computer. UUkeys Windows Password Recovery can easily do that with CD or USB. Then use it to reset password on that locked computer.
