    As opposed to bare mattress? In terms of covers, I only use a sheet in the summer, winter it's only blankets.

    I sleep naked during spring and summer, i just put sheet on a bed and sleep on it, and in winter i sleep covered with blanket

    But sometimes I like them to only cover half of my body instead of everything up to the neck.

    Not much. mainly during the winter. I set my hvac to 68 F in the winter to save electricity. I set it to 74 in the summer for the same reason. I have sheets on my sweet california king, but I usually just sleep on top of them in boxers.
