2 Million Gold - Thank WoD Garrison!

The gold bank gold limit was significantly higher than a character's gold limit which is why every single one of my non-raiding AH alts had a guild bank. The limit was definitely above 425k. Hell, the guild I was in back in Wrath, Kamikaze Penguins on Uther, did a payout to Raiders a couple times in late Wrath when the guild bank hit 600k+ breaking out ~400k to be distributed to the raiding team. Besides playing the AH for myself, I was also the guild banker.

With regards to addiction, yep, I was heavily addicted to WoW during Wrath; in particular the AH mini game : the game with in the game. I also raided 4 nights a week which is why I set up a second account: so I could keep an eye on the AH even while raiding. All this while working 40-45hrs(software engineer) a week and doing my nightly hikes and weekend bike rides. I had a second machine set up in my office for running junit integration tests for the server I was working on. That machine was dedicated to running WoW during the day with a terminal window open scrolling a weblogic server log to make it look like the machine was actually doing something work related. Crazy! No denying it, I was addicted to playing the AH.

With a transmute specialist alchemist, JCer, and Enchanter I was raking in the dough. The random pieces of tailored or leather crafted raid gear from time to time didn't hurt either. And those arrows from ICC.... god I made fortune on those things.

I don't know what the guild bank limit at that time was. I had gold spread across a bunch of toons. The only reason I realized just how much I had was because I was looking to consolidate and move as much as possible from Uther to Blackrock when I server xferred in early Cata : just over 8.5 mil. The fun of moving that much gold is a tale for another time.

No botting which I was certainly accused of and pinged by GMs about on many occasions. I did have a pretty solid hold on the enchantment and gem market. Glyphs, in my experience, have never been a good money maker.

I definitely do not remember having more than 1mil in any one toon's guild bank at that time. Upper hundreds of thousands per guild bank, yes.

Cool! Always interesting to know about your kind of player. Personally I was super happy in cata just to sit on "old money" like 350k. I tough I would never spend it, just because it feelt like alot + I didnt buy much....AND then come WOD lol! 2 million gold earned from AH sales now since I migrated to a new server...its stupid. In my hole wow time I only made like 2.5 million sales. 130k AH auctions posted on my main with tons off shuffling ores for that....now I posted 20k auctions and earned soon the same, if not more...

I'm not so rich, but all the money I made is from garrisson and selling stuff from garrissons.

When I now log in every character once per day I get about 4k. If I feel like it I repeate that in the evening and will also get about 4k. The result:


I was at 1.7 million but bought a mount for 100k (as you see in the weekly gold drop)

I could invest much more time and optimise the traits and the shipyards and stuff like that and then I may be able to double the income. But that's too much work since I don't need more gold anyway.

Yep, unless Legion introduces some new gold sinks, you can buy all the cool stuff for like 3-5 million. Ofcourse no TCG for you, but unless you really min-max mounts for more than 300 :P

I've got about 130k on my main and a little lower than that on alts. Maybe 300-350k in total. I don't see how people are making so much money off of garrisons. Yeah it's a nice paycheck, but I've never come anywhere close to getting a million.

Did 20 garrisons twice a day from march 1 to march 31. Ended up with 917k (gold+ min value of champions honor/elixir/cache/rep item) and 4060 big crate of salvage. Shame I didn't start earlier with it

I'm sitting at little over 3mil atm. i spent about 150k last month and ive bought game time since wow tokens came out. i'm at the lower end of the 1% club but n0t many people i know can say they have even a mil so i'm happy.
