casual gear question

I'm a mythic geared tank and pvp rarely. Since the current pvp gear only gets boosted up to 730/40 I don't see the point in buying any gear besides 2 trinks and a legendary ring replacement.

I did some rbgs the last time the weekly quest was up and I can't say I'd drop raid 2+4 for pvp 2+4 pc. Is there something large I'm missing or does the gear just exist for non raiders to have ~730 in pvp?

I'm sure another likely answer is it's for Ret and Holy. I'm not trying to pretend Prot is of any real use.

The PVE set bonuses are disabled in pvp I think.
