    $1500 PC Build

So I have little to no knowledge of PC parts and such (the small bit I do know is just from listening to others conversations and occasionally browsing other build posts on this forum). But, I figured I could ask for some help here as a way to get some actual feedback and a starting point.

I've currently got a pretty old HP with a GTX 560 ti and it's starting to act like it's on it's way out. I'm looking to build a new PC for around $1500 not including mouse, monitor, keyboard. For now I'll be keeping my blackwidow and naga but i do plan on getting another monitor to go with this new PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I should also note that I have my eye on an Oculus Rift at the moment but nothing definitive.

Not sure if you need a OS, but if you do get it from Kinguin.
This is a nice white/black aesthetic.

If its mainly for wow and other light gamming a overclocked skylake with your 560ti should be enough for now until AMD polaris or Nvidia Pascal graphic cards, that are rumored to come in 1-2 months.

Droping 600$/€ on a 980ti at this stage is burning money

I find it kinda weird that buying 2 times a Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500gig 2.5" Solid State Drive is still like 2-5 dollars cheaper then the 1TB one.

Why is having one drive better though? The only reason I know of is that sometimes the socket you use on the motherboard could affect its speed. Btw don't quote me on that because I'm certainly no expert on the subject.

It's not, he was just saying the guy that recommended the 1 drive instead of 2 that are cheaper, is that he seriously thinks people get confused by and can not handle having multiple drives.

Ah I guess I did not read far enough into the thread, my bad. Yeah having two drives sure do get my panties all in a bunch.

In fact having 2 500gb 850 EVOs would be technically faster if you were using both at the same time but well whatever. Let's not restart this 1 vs 2 drives discussion again guys.

I've been thinking about building a PC from scratch for a while now but after trying to run Dark Souls 3 and having it run like piss just put me over the edge.

I've never built a full PC before put I did swap my video card and power supply myself so i can imagine its much harder to put more pieces together. (Although I'm quite aware of how little i understand about computer components at this stage)

Edit: also if anything new is about to be released wouldnt that mean a price drop for anything out currently?

It's almost certain that the price of current GPU's will drop once the new cards are released. So yeah it's best to wait just a little longer.
Rumors have it that they will be released in one to two months.

That has never been the case in the past. Generally, they have already dropped in price, since they are old now, and the new cards come it at the old price points. What you do see after release is an increase in the used market of the old cards, however, the new old stock generally remains about the same and sometimes even goes up in price, since they are not being made anymore and people want them for SLI.
