Hillary Clinton and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio sparked controversy at an event on Saturday with a racially charged joke.

Clinton and de Blasio were joined onstage by Leslie Odom Jr. in costume as Aaron Burr, whom he plays in the hit Broadway musical Hamilton. Clinton thanked de Blasio for his endorsement—which many pointed out came rather late in the game—and ribbed him, “Took you long enough.”

The mayor replied, “Sorry, Hillary, I was running on C.P. time.”

The abbreviation refers to the stereotype of “Colored People time,” and several people in the audience could be heard gasping or groaning. Odom, who is black and whom the New York Times suggests was in on the joke, rebuked him, saying, “I don’t like jokes like that, Bill.”

Clinton dryly replied, “Cautious politician time. I’ve been there.”

Wacky story, now I know this site has a lot of Hillary haters (from both sides) and while I'm not a big fan personally it almost seems the media is trying to pull the same narrative that they did with Donald Trump by trying to make her out to be a racist. Besides the obvious point that Hillary didn't actually make the joke, the media has deceptively tried to pin the blame on her just as much as De Blasio. In addition to this, this "skit" was at a political dinner that was more like a political roast and when you think about it, while it was not hilarious by any stretch, it was pretty clearly a joke and not some sort of statement of bigotry.

While no doubt there are users on this site that will probably feel the corporate media is heavily in favor of Hillary, at the same time it does appear that the far left PC media on some level is trying to do a hit job at the same time on her, as well as the right wing media, possibly enjoying the concept of "democrats attacking democrats". My parents use the term Indian time when inviting my dads side of the family over (they are from India). My parents always give them a time an hour before we want them to show up. So if my mom says she invited them over for 6pm indian time, I know they will be there at 7pm.

For the same reason the original thread was closed, this is a comedy skit. At the same event previously, it included Rudy Guiliany dressed in drag, resulting in Trump 'motorboating' his... Uhm... boobs?... without consent... And yes, it resulted in 0 controversy from either feminists or transgendered...
