Creating Music Videos

I've been eager to start developing music videos.
Clips of sports, TV series, with a backing track.

Identical to something like this


I have some questions.
What software do you recommend? How do you get your materiel? Do you 'steal' from other YouTube videos for example? I notice a lot of the fan made videos have official footage for example.

Does anyone recommend a learning resource for this?
I've always been good at matching music to video footage, and I reckon it'll be a talent to develop.

I use Adobe Premiere, it is the one I was taught in Uni.
It is intutive and has lots of options.

I can recommed it.
