America is a Constitutional Republic. A democratic nation is a nation ruled by Mob rule or a majority, and thank god it's not. That's not how America works. Pay attention in class.

Well, after the murderers were acquitted of the crime, they admitted they were guilty. At that point they were protected by the double jeopardy rule.

The death of Fred Hampton is probably the most egregious one, an outright assassination by the FBI and its COINTELPRO apparatus. The fact that the government was actively working to get rid of them and create problems in my mind is more a story than Rackley. More over the Panthers were correct to be paranoid, the FBI was actively attacking them and did assassinate Fred Hampton or were involved in his death.

Well, at the time 60-70's there was a lot of racism in the US, mostly directed at blacks. I don't know if Jim Crow was still in effect in a large part of the nation but it was around that time, blacks had to ride in the back of the bus, couldn't drink from the same water fountains as whites, etc. I wouldn't put up with that crap if it was directed at me.

Jim Crow was legally not a thing, but in the urban centers in the north there was a lot of problems. For example the Oakland PD was notorious for its treatment of black people in that city, so Huey and Bobby went from their local college with firm knowledge of the law, got loaded weapons and would follow the police around to make sure they were intimidated into being a lot friendly towards the black community in that city.

The point is that this has nothing to do with the Black Panther's. The claim was that lynching was common place. This one account a decade earlier is not proof that it was 'common place' at the time in question. I don't think anyone is denying that these guys were asshats.

I don't know why you're talking in gibberish, but I'll answer that by saying a Constitutional republic protects the minority from the majority. Our constitution gives an individual liberty and freedom, but with that freedom comes self responsibility. Self responsibility is hard, especially when people promise you free stuff by reaching in the pocket of those that earn their living.

People always vote in their self interest. It's how human beings have always worked, and will always look to the path of the least suffering for their self interest. Frederic Bastiat wrote a book on it. It's called the Law. Enlighten yourself and try picking it up. It's about a two hour read. It's free and you can download it from google. It was written in 1850, by a man who went through the French revolution, and seen what socialism does first hand.
