Hey yeah I just switched the Windows 10 calculator to scientific, after you type 6/2, when you hit open parenthesis it simply does not count that 2.

You found a bug in Windows. You should report it, maybe they will give you a prize!

Are you typing: 6 / 2 * ( 1 + 2 )?

Note the * symbol. If you just hit 6 / 2 ( 1 + 2 ), it may not be registering that there's multiplication going on between the "2" and the "(" and may in fact be replacing the 2 with the open parenthesis.

I saw it in a thumbnail first, made the pattern really obvious.

Maths skill didn't even factor into it.
