Duh, it's made by the Naughty Gods.
It was expected. Naughty Dog is one of the best developers period. They've pretty much been getting better since Crash Bandicoot and those games were quite good.
Insomniac is still my bae though.
Insomniac has made 2 great games this gen, no other studio outside of Nintendo EAD can say that.
Shame that Sunset Overdrive will just die into obscurity though, the Xbox One install base is such a sad customer base game would have easily done infamous numbers on PS4. Should of just let Sony own the IP Insomniac, it's not going to do anything for you buried in the ground.
I will probably just play it for the story/characters. Uncharted got pretty boring at the 3rd one so I hope they will change up the gameplay a lot from time to time. Loved The Last of Us though.
review's before game actually launched in 2016 LUL
the ultimate answer's to all rogue issues :
-Rogues might still be dealing with the changes to combo points {2014}
People still play Uncharted?
I mean it's like... the same thing over and over.
Good to see that. Never played the series, but I watched some gameplays and boy, it looks really really good. Maybe one day I'll give the series a try.
I wonder how many bribes they did to get that score.
Don't sweat the details!!!
Call of Duty. Battlefield. Halo. All Mobas. Largly the same thing over and over. Yet still insanely popular.
Different people enjoy different things. I will play uncharted4 because I enjoy uncharted.
If your going to use a game to show differences, use Witcher 3. How many differences in the same damn game?Mass Effect was wildly different between its games ( I'm using it as an example because it's a TPS as well ).
Witcher 3 isn't a TPS.
Those are played for the multiplayer, which is much less repetitive than a single player game because players do what they want not what they are programmed to do.Call of Duty. Battlefield. Halo. All Mobas. Largly the same thing over and over. Yet still insanely popular.
If I play Dark Souls and someone makes a... I don't know, double whip build, something that's out of the ordinary, that's variation, despite the Souls games being pretty much the same thing over and over.
Uncharted isn't some masterpiece story, it's a guy going into ruins, doing silly hill climbing and shooting people up. You'd think such a thing gets boring after 4 titles.
Not remotely surprised, the series has consistently reviewed well and Naughty Dog make great games.
Also, I wonder of the sites giving it an 8/10 will get harassed and death threats like the last time that happened with Uncharted 3 when Eurogamer gave it that score : P
not at ll surprised. I've actualy read a few reviews (and btw - they are not 100% positive either, reviews I've read had both praise and constructive criticism), not just scores; as well as ventured into major spoiler territory and..... lets just say none of the fears I had once they said that they were implementing a lot of the things they have learned from the last of us - came to fruition. (don't get me wrong, I think Last of us is incredible, but the tone is so very different from Uncharted...) but... apparently they have learned all the right things and improved greatly upon gameplay and balance between set pieces and quiet moments, all the while still keeping Uncharted the joyful summer blockbuster it was always meant to be.
may 10 cannot come soon enough.
P.S. people who harass reviewers over imperfect scores need psychological help. as soon as possible.
Everything can sound shallow and uninteresting when described very vaguely and with a negative tone.
"Hots doesn't have any own story, it's just a mashup brawler based mostly on old franchises where you go around trying to kill other players and capturing objectives".
The story does evolve even if you don't like it, and the gameplay mechanics do get refined and slightly changed even if the overall tone, focus and main "activities" of the game remain the same. Saying uncharted is just a guy going into ruins doing climbing and shooting is about as accurate as saying hots is just random characters going into a relatively small and limited set of maps using a limited small set of abilities to attempt to win.
Yes, when a franchise gets sequel after sequel it tends to get repetitive. It's jsut the nature of the thing, since if they change too much it will likelly be a spin-off, not really a sequel. When people love your game because it's about a guy going into ruins doing climbing and shooting, why would you change that much if you want to make a sequel?
Just don't deny that multiplayer games are repetitve too. Sure the human agency helps a lot in making each match feel fresh and different, and keeping it enjoyable for long periods of time. But that doesn't make it not repetitive - You're still playing in the same maps, using the same skills, choosing between warrior, damage, support or specialist, using the same mechanics.
