Should People be Responsible for Bank Stuff ups

They take money out of our accounts for various fees and services.

But when a Major Bank stuffs up and puts $4.6 Million into your Bank Account
should you let them know and is it really fraud for the individual that Accidently receives it.

This young lady had $4,6 million deposited in her account and spent it on
handbags and nice things. Now she is up on serious Fraud charges.

A WOMAN who blew more than $3 million after a banking error was told by a magistrate yesterday she may not have broken the law in taking “money we all dream about”.

Christine Lee spent millions on luxury handbags and renting lavish penthouses after Westpac gave her an unlimited overdraft on her savings account in 2014.

On the surface she was a humble 21-year-old Malaysian chemical engineering student but for the next nine months police allege she accessed more than $4.6 million for a dramatic spending spree.

“It’s not a proceed of crime, it’s money we all dream about,’’ she said, before granting Lee bail with strict conditions. Legal Aid solicitor Fiona McCarron told the court police would find it difficult to prove Lee’s spending was illegal.

Ms Stapleton agreed, saying: “She didn’t take it from them. They gave it to her.”

I did not go back to the machine to take advantage of the Bank Error , because ATMs take photos
Should have I told the bank about the ATM error and my $30 windfall. ??
I have checked my bank balance this morning..$20 withdrawl noted

I pressed the button to withdraw $20

The ATM has buttons of withdraw $20, $60, $100

The bank does not have a button to withdraw $50, you have to type $50 on the keypad.

Obviously, the bank operator put the $50 money cartridge into the $20 Cartridge slot by accident
