Just curious, Are they actually experts in the field persay or is this just another thing we have to have gender parity in?

Legitimately curious because a lot of things nowadays seem to just hire women instead of the most qualified so they don't get crucified. Good on them if they are actually into this game, it seems D&D actually hit the mainstream a lot more recently.

A tabletop RPG conference having half women as panelists is newsworthy because it's unusual, such things are usually sausagefests. So there's an article about it. But of course it turns into a massive shitfest on the forum because the internet is riddled with people who are triggered by the slightest mention of feminism.
genuine question, it is D&D. Do you honestly believe women consititute half of its playerbase?

The amount represented should be the amount of people who wanted to go. Lets not shoot for an arbitrary number just for reasons. If it happens that 50% are women who enjoy it, fine. But if you'e just wanting butts in seats for some parity bullshit, gtfoh
