This is relevant to my interests... I wonder how bad the lag will be from the US to China.

    Worth it.

Or at least worth trying. Maybe seeing enough people will get them to make an Western Server?

Games not worth it. I've had my eye on this one for years:

It is F2P but pay to win. Drop rates, even for a MH game, are abysmal. They practically force you to shell out cash in order to upgrade. Thnink for a moment, how long it took you to farm some of the more rare monster derops, such as a Rathalos Plate....now make it EVEN MORE rare, and you have MH:O. It uses the Eastern MMO practice of micro-transactions to speed up progression (which they pray you will do since they lowered the drop rates). So the game is pay to win.

It is basically the same thing that Blizzard did with D3 when it first came out. They added an Auction House so to compensate they made drop rates insanely low.

Outside of looking the part of a MH game, it doesn't feel the part.

If you are a fan of MH, I would honestly say to skip this and get MH Generations instead. Sure the graphics aren't as pretty but it'll be a MUCH more solid MH experience as it is actually created by the main team. MH:O is outsourced and made by a team that hasn't worked on any other MH title.
There is a thin line between not knowing and not caring, and I like to think that I walk that line every day.

Setting aside it being a cash shop monster of epic proportions no monhun fan will find a familiar experience here.

    Two words: "air juggling"

With MH generations all it has going for it is the new combos/new moves thats it, all the armor looks exactly the same as it did in the other ones, and the new armor looks god awful.

Noone plays Monster Hunter for the graphics, or art.

They play Monster Hunter for the hunts, and the fun or taking down the big monsters.

MH:O fails in that regard and is just a pay to win game. MH:G is a Monster Hunter game to the core.

As for the new armors look...that's just your opinion.

I play for the cool armor, if the armor doesnt look good then i wont play simple as that. Even if the game is good itself but if the armor isnt cool looking then >.>, only the deviant armor looks good to me. The female armor is the one that mainly bugs me

Guess I'll just stay and read Kizuki Aruchu's porn about the game instead of playing it.

I just checked it out for a couple of hours. It's meh. Firstly, Tencent installs so much garbage on your computer that it took me longer to uninstall all of the excess programs that I didn't want/need than I spent playing the game. That alone should be enough reason to steer clear. Secondly, you have a daily xp cap and a daily hunt cap. You can't gain any xp past the cap, and any hunts done past the cap do not give drops. You also need the tickets in order to progress the story quest, which opens new areas. After my 10 hunts, I wasn't able to build a full set of first tier armor, and there's no reason to play now since I cannot progress the story quest or get any more drops towards my armor.

I'll just wait for generations, despite how much hand-cramping I get on the 3ds.

Signing up for the account was the hardest part. It didn't feel too awful to play, despite having 250-300 ping, but spikes do occur. I still wouldn't recommend the game, though.

I just went to try to download the game and it made my anti-virus pop up and say the site is known for malware LOL.

Google Translate doesn't want to do its job with this site for some reason lol.

I want Dragon's Dogma Online damit lol.

Yeah, a lot of the site was images so translation didn't work. And there's like 5+ junk programs that install with MHO (some of which you can opt out of if you can read the language), which I presume are what set off the malware detector.

There was a signup guild on reddit, but the site seems to have been slightly changed since the guide was written, so you gotta play with it a bit.

Deviant armor guide? Like, stuff that not only protects your butt, but slides something up it too?

This is exactly what I was talking about. They make it very hard to obtain gear via normal play. If you want to actually gear up in a reasonable amount of time you need to pay more money.

And that is not what MH is about.
