Why so much hate towards WoW?

Fairly sure Watcher only listened to himself. Those who agreed with him was likely just used as justification while he ignored things he didnt like.

i dislike watcher, when he talks i just want to punch him cos, he always seems to have a hint of sarcasm in his voice, if wow did die and it wont for many years they would have to replace it with something to keep the payers cos if warcraft didnt exist there not gonna flock to OW HS or HOTS etc they will jut go to another mmo like guild wars or final fantasy

It also has less content patches than diablo 3.

While WoW could have a bit more updates than nowadays, D3 could definitely slow down on those for my personal taste. I am actually discouraged from playing D3 cause I know with my playtimes I can hardly enjoy any season enough before it ends.
