Which games to play to help understand movie

Since I know almost nothing outside WoW, I was thinking about trying to play through a couple of the Warcraft games before I go see the movie. With June 10 coming up quick, do you guys think it would be relevant/interesting to do this? I checked into the original WC and it seems pretty staple... only a paragraph of text introducing each mission. I can't imagine it would be very illuminating. I haven't looked into WCII or III yet, though.

Or should I just go try and find/read the relevant lore myself?

None. The movie basically reboots the lore from the games completely. It's a separate universe.

The movie doesn't reboot the lore completly. It has the same bases.

As Aqua said - none. The movies are completely separate uniwerse. There is a prequel book if you are interested.

Still, it's meant to be an introduction to the 'verse, so no games should be needed.

It is still a different universe, meaning it can go anywhere and not follow lore as we know it.

Warcraft 3/ frozen throne gives a pretty large chunk of pre wow lore (and also very fun)

It has nothing to do with the movie tho.

I enjoyed reading the prequel. Not great literature or anything, but I enjoyed it. Typical fun fantasy book.
