Lorewise if a death knight and a demon hunter fought together who would win? According to the Arthas vs Illidan battle it appears that death knights are stronger but those were boss characters, what about when regular death knights vs demon hunters fought with each other.

I'm going to go ahead with my death knight bias and say:
(game wise)
Arthas beats Illidan in the cinematic
Arthas beats Illidan in HotS
Death knights beat Demonhunters on the Beta
Death knights are freaking ruthless beasts with a massive twohander and super thick plate armor. The DK will probably give the DH a confused stare as he tries to slice open that saronite plate before beheading him.

Lorewise, DHs are specialised to hunt and kill demons. DKs are made to kill... PERIOD.
DH would fall short, IMO..Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > DF > BfA > WoD = WotLK

Pretty sure DKs would wipe the floor with Demon Hunters. Especially considering that DKs would hardly fight alone and specialize in summoning the undead to fight along side or for them. DHs just aren't specialized in fighting undead necro magic but then again DKs aren't specialized in fighting demons, which DHs technically are.
It could be close but in the end I think DKs could overwhelm a DH with sheer numbers

technically, until the end. Illidan was handily beating Arthas. Then got cocky, overstepped, thus Arthas took advantage and defeated him. It wasn't a "complete shitstomp" as people seem to make it out to be. Originally Posted by DoflamingoGT

he doesn't look dead to me.you can clearly see his wings are still moving and it was never said that he was dead.that is just headcanon and they didn't have time to make full cinematic.besides,Arthas fighting Illidan equally is a PIS at best and he didn't slipped.

Also, how Arthas hit illidan at the end was crap, he was clearly too far in the air for the kind of strike arthas did to actually hit.

arthas only beat him due to the frozen throne being right there and empowering him. if they would have met down in quel'thalas or something, he's would have fucked him.
idk though, average demon hunter vs. average dk, it's a bit of a toss up unless the demon hunter goes meta. but that's probably super dangerous to do in lore.
