Blink dagger mana cost back, please.

Honestly it's getting out of hand, Blink dagger is by and far the most powerful item in DoTA, so powerful in fact that the only time Blink Dagger is an outright bad purchase, is if the hero in question already has blink built into their kit, ALL other heroes can utilize Blink to a lesser or greater extent.
It's not uncommon to see 3+ Blink daggers on one team alone, with the incredible range of that item you can surprise buttsex anyone you want, constantly.

It's especially strong for these unstoppable kill combos like Tiny, LC, Lina with Eul's etc. bringing back the 75 mana cost would at least leave blink dagger's undeniable initiate and ganking power, but would make it so you need to be more careful about usage, and/or getting mana alternatives to keep up with it, rather than lulz spam on cooldown.

I seem to be in a minority here, with most people enjoying the 9 min rush to blink only to completely stomp afterwards giving your enemies little to no counter play.

*Alternatively* implement an item, costs 2250 gold, gives you 2+ to all stats, and has a 1250 range aura that deals 1 damage and heals 1 damage per second, name the item "Fuck you blink." kkthx.

Or learn to play around it, its called wards, stop being out of position and many more things.

Only problem with todays dota is "The guide doesnt say it" so people dont really know how to counter basic things.

Blink cant do shit if you see him coming, and with a proper team you simply destroy him, it can happen its called "Not being bad" and "coordination".

Its cost was removed because with the cost it was utilized by certain heroes mostly and not anyone, while forcing stupid builds, aka mana on Axe etc etc.

Blink is a pain up the ass, yes i agree but bringing the mana cost back? Hell no.

Problem is simply, Heroes that really rely on Blink Dagger to do anything get fucked.

Playing Axe before the removal of Mana cost for Blink dagger was a huge pain.

Blink + Call + Ult alone sufficed to render you nearly oom, throw in Battle Hunger and you're fully oom, not fun to be oom after every single gank.

Tiny sits in a similiar boat, Tiny's manapool barely covered a full combo with Blink dagger, however if you don't have blink, people just try really bad to keep their distance, which is doable unless your team has some other tools to initiate a fight.

I would agree if some heroes wouldn't be just dogshit without the utility provided by Blink, which happen to be Str heroes with a low manapool to begin with and Force staff is very often not a suitable replacement.

Just as you say play around blink (Which can be damn near impossible given the whooping 1250 range) why don't strength heroes play around the mana cost, same principle.
You want that blink dagger on axe/tiny? Invest in a pair of mana boots then etc.
Being able to constantly blink without having to think twice about it is so strong

Consider the Heroes who have enough mana to still abuse it without consequence. Adding the cost back wouldn't do anything to deter them from stilll buying it. All it would do is artificially inflate the price to also include a pair of mana boots for the Str initiatiors who absolutely depend on the item for their success. Those same initiators have also been slowly seeing their mana costs increace due to the removal of Blinks mana cost, so its a whole lot of un-nerfing required to, essentially, get them back to the same spot they're already in currently.

Changing an item to unfairly punish its intended users, while doing nothing to fix the actual problems with it, is just a bad idea overall. I agree that something needs to be done about Blink, but I don't think this is it. It's an item that has had purchace restrictions on it before, its an ugly way to fix it, but it would do the trick in the short term.

Blink is not that strong. It's a core item for several heroes, situational for the rest. Far from being OP.

Here op, this will cheer you up

It's counterable, but I agree that it's being used with heroes that you would have never considered before.
