Question 1000$ Desktop for recording HD gameplay of WoW, Overwatch, HotS and Hearthstone

    Hey Guys!!

This year I've started my own YouTube channel. So far I record only Hearthstone gameplay on my Lenovo E440 laptop. You can check out some samples here.

The game is usually having some trouble with fps, especially if I render a video while recording a new one at the same time. I am using Screencast-O-Matic for recording videos & Windows Movie Maker for editing them. Editing/rendering process usually takes almost the same time as the length of the video i.e. 15min render of 1080p video for 15min video.

I plan to start recording some WoW: Legion Gameplay, I would also love to record HotS and Overwatch and possible some more titles in future.

I understand there's probably no laptop good enough to do this for a reasonable (around 1000$) price so I will have to switch back to desktop after 5 years of owning laptop only ... BTW: Right now WoW & Overwatch is unplayable on my Laptop and HotS is playable only on lowest settings.

Can you help me with building a suficient one? Or suggesting a good laptop if it exists?

One thing I know for sure is that if I go for desktop I will buy some ergonomic keyboard & mouse like these. because my wrists are already stating to feel it if I use mouse extensively - I use it only when playing HotS, otherwise I just use my touchpad.

I live in Europe, Czech republic, so some local vendor suggestions would be great. Looking forward to your opinions

So far I stumbled upon something like these, but don't know if they are not too overpowered & expensive for the stuff I want to do ...

    Thank you very much tenagrychickens!!!

    Wow that's a little brutal

Can we get something solid for half the price?

Even if I have to go only on medium settings during recording?

    Or is it impossible?

He included an i7, since you are rendering, the Hyperthreading will really speed things up. To lower the price, you could instead go with an i5-6600K, it just won't render as fast. It will not affect actual gaming performance though. I'd also recommend waiting for about a month and looking at the RX 480 for the video card instead of the 390. Will save you a bit there as well.

Thank you very much!! Yeah I think I will be buying that desktop in August 2016 with Legion release. Any more suggestions for a desktop of half the price?

I guess i5 will be enough then ... I can upgrade the CPU later on can't I? Since it will be a desktop?
