It's just a good target as it goes relatively unpoliced. But there are places that are genuinely unpoliced that are much much worse. It's just an image board with a reputation for kiddie hackers and tone deaf activism. chan boards really rile up the pro-censorship squad too, and they have a pretty loud voice at the moment.

Haven't visited that site in a decade. It was full of stomach churning crap: Photos from accidents, murders, rapes, pedoporn, animal cruelty/porn etc. It's like 50/50 except it's more like 90/10. And then there's user content that is sort of a contest of who can create the most disturbing shit. I've seen a guy amputate his own dick for no other reason than the board coaxing him on. People killing themselves on livestreams after the board telling them that's for the best. I laugh when I hear people cry about how mean and disturbing people are on the internet after being trolled by some 10 year old on reddit. They have no clue. The scary part isn't even the site or its content. It's the users. They are/were full blown psychopaths with no inhibitions whatsoever. These people exist out there somewhere. That's a scary thought.

Maybe it's gotten better nowadays but last I visited it was psychopath heaven.
