Honestly, I'm getting tired of the number of "Trump is a racist and I have proof" or "Hillary is a criminal because of found this obscure video from 1997" threads. I'm not saying people don't have the right to post. I'd just rather they add their voice to any one of the already existing anti Trump or anti Hillary topics. We don't need 3 new ones every day. As for political discussion, I think its healthy when done respectfully to the other people you are talking to. Open discussions with those who might have opposing views are good. I discuss politics fairly regularly now that its the election season with many people in my day to day interactions. There's just something about being on the internet that makes some people into assholes though. Be respectful even if you disagree.
I really love how eagerly some people label others with various political stamps.
"Typical leftist arrogance rabble rabble rabble!". It's especially funny when nobody was talking about politics or anything that is debated in the political world.
Otherwise, I don't really mind political threads.
Wait, really? Does it work when you access the site via a smartphone?

I think it's really funny when the right-wing posters start referring to one another as SJWs. Which happens in nearly every thread.
Then you get the 12 year olds complaining about betas and the whole thread becomes a shitfest.
Well, to answer the now banned OP: YES! i fucking hate politics!
I enjoy this forum and it can be entertaining and on occasion, educational even. But a good relationship is not something here I am in the least concerned about. I try to treat others with respect not just here, but outside of this forum because it is the right thing to do. So discussing politics or whatever subject is just a matter of posting your opinion and some will disagree. Which is fine. Only time they make my ignore list is if they insist on being a insulting asshole who only wants to be argumentative and not respectful.
no threads do, but some are still banned because of the safespace attitude infecting europeans.
No, I might hate this forum specifically at times but Reddit really went off the deepend. There was a thread in /r socialism about how people should violently attack all Trump supporters and I posted that it would only help trump and get banned with a message that said "NO TRUMP SUPPORTERS". The r/worldnews is actually more open to discussion the the /politics one, just because everything on r/politics is some salon Bernie article
62 ads blocked just on this forum page. Mmo-c is full of ads. I went as long as I could before going the block route, but when they started adding audio ads, that was the last straw (same as wowhead). That meant I couldn't leave the browser open or alt tabbed in a game without being interrupted.
More on topic though. Political threads are more for the poster. They're not going to convince anyone to sway their political leanings. For the poster though, it can be cathartic to get a good opinion off their chest.
Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? With an expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award winning Heavensward expansion up to level 60 for free with no restrictions on playtime?
No. They keep the forum alive.
We're not really allowed to talk about much else aside from politics, and even then we have to keep it in a narrow scope or that gets locked. Sure, there's the gem topics that fit the bill while not being political. Problem is that these topics use up their entertainment value after one use because they aren't recurring and updating topics, unlike politics.

Here's what we need to do:
There's probably few people that actually hate anyone here. If that were the case, we wouldn't contribute to as many topics as we do.
Most of us are young right? Make threads related to us trying to set an economic/social foothold in the real world. Even the people that already can contribute to those with insight as well.
Doing this would also bring a more positive vibe to the community since we'd be discussing topics that we can directly relate to and not oppose one another in.

It's not the threads themselves, it's some of the brainless retards and trolls posting in the threads.
Probably because the vast majority of political threads are made in mind to say "fuck you" to the other side. They are rarely started to actually discuss an issue, and the times they are is quickly ruined by the people whose idea of a political discussion is just telling the other side to fuck off.
Still, I find them useful sometimes to learn about an issue from various view points, you just have to wade through a lot of stupid to get there.
