I swear Vyxn and Cybran may be alt accounts of one another, they are just so similar in style.

As for the Olympics, It may be too late to cancel, but I think they should.

    Damn you Socialism-man!
"In order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must be intolerant of intolerance." Paradox of tolerance

I wish we'd scrap the absurd globalism of rotating it through places that can't afford to dump that money. There are perfectly good facilities built in places that don't have a new crime or disease crisis a couple times per year.
Agreed, maybe have 10 1st world countries that host it on a rotating basis.

It seems they are pretty popular from what I google, they are world wide though so that may boost it.

I love the Olympics, can't get enough of it. When it's my favorite sports (running and basketball), I pretty much never miss them. Even the stuff I generally don't much care about (like swimming) I'm in for when the nationalism is present. The Olympics is one of the few times that all but the most ridiculously effete are enthusiastically pro-American and get into some chanting.

I watch olympics hockey. They basically cancel the NHL while the olympics happen. That's winter though.

Rather live in a socialist country than one where someone can have 3 jobs and still not make ends meet and then be shamed for "not trying hard enough".

Or where bad/good things are measured by "will I end up paying taxes for it"...

Most of the issues in Brazil have been due to corruption, bribes, and money for the Olympics being siphoned off to officials pockets if you check the news there and look into it even a little bit. Those things have nothing to do with the type of government, no matter what type you have you're going to have problems with all that going on to the degree that it was. Even the President had to resign from a bribe scandal. If you have that much corruption in any system it's going to be broken, I don't really see it as a reflection on the Socialist political system. But it is a good example of why government needs oversight and to be watched closely with checks and balances.

so how many more examples need to happen before people begin to realize you know socialism isn't what it is all cracked up to be
Yah socialism sells well to the uniformed with all the promises of free stuff and punishing the evil rich people in the process
yes I understand some forms of socialism is required in any developed country but the less you are required to have the better off you will be
wouldn't you rather live in a country from which no socialism is required that everyone is able to take care of them serves and family? I agree that isn't possible but shouldn't that be the goal not expanding socialism?
You seem to be quite "uninformed" yourself, though.
