    Isnt everyone whos gone to school these days at least fluent in 2 languages? In sweden everyone learns at least 3 languages during their first 9 years of school.

    Had to take Spanish in high school because 2 years of a language cred was required. promptly forgot it after passing. I still recognize bits and pieces sometimes. But really, I speak the only one that matters.

    It's not arrogant if it's the truth. Lots of people have English as their second language. I wonder why that is?

    I speak:

    Norwegian(Danish/swedish aswell), English, German and are learning Mandarin.

    The thing about speaking another language in the US is you'll never use it and if you don't use it, you'll forget it. I speak a little Spanish for when I got to Mexico but I don't go enough to keep in practice so I'm slowly forgetting it.

    If you lived in France you could learn Spanish or German and get plenty of practice.

    For a thousand miles around me pretty much everyone speaks English.
