This is the opposite of cool.

Mike Massé and Jeff Hall did a cover of Toto's "Africa" and it is one of the most gorgeous things I've ever heard. I wish I could listen to it for the first time again.

    CAPITALIZATION IS VITAL.

The best song covers are transformative.

Better, but still triggers me that she/penatonix skipped an entire verse

Sabaton - For Whom The Bell Tolls

Sonata Arctica - Fade To Black

BLASPHEMY. Imagine dragons forever also their best song is by far Demons.

Also there has been some new remade/remix of old songs now like Country Road was made into a pop song now.

It must have been said already but Hurts cover by Johnny Cash is uncontested for the best cover. He usurped ownership it was so good.

    Areosmith - Dream On

That is just disgusting. It stripped the whole heart and soul from the song to turn it into a generic pop song, not to mention they sound like a budget version of the TLC or Destiny's Child.

I lied. One more, because Synthwave is the hottest genre on this side of the mississippi river. #80s Swag
This one cheats by being a re-edit, but its worth it

Five Finger Death Punch has two remakes that I enjoy more than the originals. House of the Rising Sun and Bad Company. Both originals are good but the remakes are more inline with my music taste. Also could not stand the remake of Radioactive the original was much better to my ears. I would also say that Creedence Clearwater Revival's version of Proud Mary is a ton better than Tina Turner's version.

Damn, I thought the Lindsey Stirling circlejerk was over. Most people realized shes actually an extremely mediocre musician after she got famous from those stupid dubstep songs

I think these two are the finest from the actual GENIUS Scott Walker- one of the 20th century's greatest musicians without question.

    Rapturous!

Jacques Brel is no slouch, so when he gets to the incredible "Ills ramenent leur batave" he sings it with such passion it breaks my heart. But when Walker gets to that part he leverages James, Joyce in the same breath as filth and slime and the divine. Brilliant.

Good call on PMJ, they do some really good covers. That Maps cover is insane but that's of course due to Morgan James, basically everything they have her in is outstanding.

Even though it's not on too many peoples' radar I'd say the band Crowbar does some covers that I prefer more than the original:

    Crowbar doing Dreamweaver

Crowbar doing Remember Tomorrow from Iron Maiden

Crowbar doing No Quarter from Led Zeppelin

    The Fresh Prince of Baudelaire

Banned at least 10 times. Don't give a fuck, going to keep saying what I want how I want to.
