Their brain cells yelled that they will never be slaves and refused to come to best conclusion. Duh.
No. You obviously skipped a lot of the quests. She is featured in the main questline through Shadowmoon Valley, literally the center of every quest. She is also part of the garrison quest line for Alliance, and is the quest giver for your first Tanaan daily. At some point you get a letter from her in your mailbox, telling you how much she's learned from you and appreciates your friendship. When you help her (as her chosen champion) through her trials to become Exarch, she is fearless; she jumped on a pack of Orc worg-riders that came by without hesitating. Even in that first quest you mention at level 90, she is fighting our quest mobs for us - with no armor and only make-shift weapons.
Tell Prophet Velen she is no one. He's the one who chose her to succeed him.
"I Am Vengeance. I Am The Night. I Am Felfáádaern!"
Maybe if you play Alliance, you get to see her.. But for Horde, she's present in ONE quest, where you have to escort her 50y, until she can find her own way..
That means, she's a totally noone, when she interfere with Archimonde fight.
If you look at Ragnaros fight, where you also have an "Alliance" (Malfurion) and "Horde" (Hamuul) presence, both of them are very known to both factions.. Yes, neither are actually Alliance/Horde as they are neutral, but they are still Nelf/Tauren.
Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > DF > BfA > WoD = WotLK

True, they did choose to introduce a new character with Yrel. True, you don't spend much time with her if you only play Horde. Most of us play both factions. You're only seeing half the story if you choose to limit yourself to one or the other.
Btw, even Horde meet Yrel more than once. She's also there when Thrall defeats Garrosh. Both Horde and Alliance characters can talk to her in the crowd standing around when it's done.
"I Am Vengeance. I Am The Night. I Am Felfáádaern!"
Hope not. I want to keep the damage done by having the AU to a minimum. Can't wait until Gul'dan is dead and AU Draenor is behind us.
To anyone who hasn't played both Alliance and Horde in WoD, I'd highly recommend taking some time over the next few weeks (what else is there to do?) and level a toon at least through the starter zone. The stories and lore from Shadowmoon Valley and Frostfire Ridge were some of the best bits from the whole xpac.
"I Am Vengeance. I Am The Night. I Am Felfáádaern!"
With how poorly they developed npcs in WoD I hope they move on from it and let that nonsense die with it. She is a weak character in most of the expansion and just like Hellscream going from one extreme to another in a flash she does the same. Time to knock the portal down and move on from them.
"Privilege is invisible to those who have it."
I'm about 90% sure they're pulling a "Hey, remember Warlords of Draenor? Uh...neither do we" with the entire expansion.
They said straight up (although this could easily change) that there was no intent for the WoD characters to show up. If I had to guess, this cutscene was in the works before they knew how poorly received Yrel and many other WoD characters were, and they intended to have them show up in our defense against the Legion.
Please, no.
If I have to hear Yrel speak again for another expansion, I might just have to use Ra'sha's Sacrificial Dagger on myself, IRL.
Until you brought this cinematic into the discussion, I didn't even know it was Yrel that was in it.. She is nameless is that cinematic... The closest thing to a name is "little girl", which does not indicate any form of signifigance... And she's not part of the quest itself, only the cinematic..

i would like to see yrel doing something again.
she was really cool, and WoD was a waste of her character i think, since they didn't do enough with your connection to her.
I'm Alliance. I know only what Durotan was Green Jesus's papa. In WoD i meet him only once or twice. I don't gives a fuck. Your point?Durotan is a MAJOR character in Lore... Someone EVERYONE knows, regardless of faction..
For Horde, Yrel is a random, insignifigant quest giver, you meet once...
Do you know how you meet someone and you ask them "how are you?" but you just ask them out of politeness and don't really care? Well, same thing here.
"If you need us, we will be here" - basically, I'm being polite so you bugger off faster, but basically we'll never help you. And I know this because, besides Gul'dan, everything in WoD is something Blizzard is sweeping under the rug. It's quite a pity, as I liked Yrel, and, considering that one of the very few draenei characters died, I hoped there would be a replacement, but no such luck.
