Colombia/Farc Sign Ceasefire, Possibly Ends 50 Year War

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-36611952

The Colombian government and the Farc rebels have signed a historic ceasefire deal, bringing them closer to ending more than five decades of conflict.

The announcement is seen as one of the last steps before a full peace deal is signed, which is expected within weeks.

Colombia's president and the Farc leader shook hands in celebration.
Thought it would be nice, in this era of constant bad news, to see something great. 50 years of war, potentially ended. This isn't the first time, though, as four years ago the Farc rebels also signed a temporary ceasefire that obviously fell through. Still, great to hear.

Yeah that is amazing. One of the last places the Cold War was still being fought declares peace. That just leaves the Philippines and maybe one or two other countries still fighting the Cold War.

    Amazing.

The "Goths" (The national conservatives) are in disagreement on that. They say the Govt. is giving the country away to terrorism and don't think a peace treaty should be signed without considering all leaders of FARC war criminals. Others say they deserve death.
One thing is for certain: in the upcoming weeks it'll be best not to confess much about political ideology, because as it usually happens after such events, left-wing members will get death threats, and it won't stop in threats. Two of the professors in the Dept. of Physics of my university got some of those already.
The thing is not as straightforward as it seems.
