Because EU membership was one of the big factors in the last vote for Scottish independence.

Well they already voted REMAIN regarding UK 2 years ago, just seems ridiculous to demand another now

Leaving the EU is rather huge change of things, and very much would warrant 2nd vote given the local view on the matter.
