Go down to Wexford or Wicklow... beautiful Valley and coastal areas. Only an hour's drive from Dublin.

Helps to mention what kind of things you're specifically into it.

    Scenic?

    History?

    Sports?

    Youth gather areas?

    etc.

I went on a pub crawl in New York, you have them.

All it takes is having some bars within walking/stumbling/crawling distance of each other.

Glendalough and Avoca are in that area if I remember. There's a tower a Glendalough and Ballykissangel (TV programme if you've heard of it) was filmed at Avoca.

Depends if you want picturesque things to do

Go to Kilkenny, hour an half by train so easy to get to, huge castle, loads of old stuff and lots of pubs, great little place to see. Also a Round tower over a thousand years old, loads of old stuff as I said . Everything is within walking distance.

No, I would say so... travel's quick with the highways, more so with the new ones, for travelling north or south from Dublin all the way.

The only times that there's traffic, like for any country within towns and cities, would be during weekdays in the mornings and evening with people heading and coming back from work or school.

You could visit your ancestral homeland. Afterall, all americans have Irish roots. Or is that only politicians?
