but there has been more murders in Chicago since 2001, then soldier deaths in Iraq AND afghanistan. or close to the same amount within like 5% or so of it. so in two conflicts it's safer to be there than in Chicago. (safer being, less likely to be killed based on the death toll.)

and the unpopular argument which IS true is most of it, is black on black crime. that's not a racist statement, but a factual one which the police/crime stats support. this is the kind of thing BLM should focus on. why are blacks killing each other at an alarming rate? not the few criminals who get popped by cops.

East St. Louis is worse than Chicago or any other city for that matter, at least we assume it is. No one really knows what happens in that hellhole anymore. My town isn't the best area, violent crimes are pretty high for the population. Usually committed by out of towners from guess where? St. Louis and Chicagoland.

Yes, lets just sweep police brutality under the rug. BLM is about cop-on-black crime. Period. Its about nothing else. You might not like it but that's what it is. Its hard to tone down crime if you don't trust the police to do their jobs.

Yes, the black community is not perfect but the neither is the white community. The poor as shit white people commit just as much crime. There might be a common thread there.

It may be time to end the war on drugs and legalize/license and regulate it like other industries. We need to financially break the cartels and the narco-gangs that distribute their products in the inner cities.

There have been over 70 in a weekend, that's not the record. Hence the nickname Chiraq that's been around for a few years now. Gangs, drugs, lots of guns, lots of fighting for gang territory and customers, gangs robbing each other for money and/or drugs...the reasons aren't a secret. But fixing it is something no one's been able to figure out yet.
